A ‘Thank You’ from CTC
As the 2024–2025 school year comes to a close across the United States, we would like to take a minute to say thank you.
First, thank you for saying yes to this most noble of professions. In a world full of choices, you chose to dedicate your time, talent, and heart to the service of students. You did this because you love kids. Thank you for making this love felt though both what you say and what you do.
Thank you for persevering, even on the days that tested your patience and resolve. For showing up - physically, emotionally, and mentally - when it could have been easier not to. Thank you for remembering that a student's behavior is what they did, not who they are. Thank you for reminding them that you care about them, and there is absolutely nothing they can do to change that.
Thank you for being the caring adult every student needs. For treating them with dignity. For listening to them. For earning their trust. For creating Connected Relationships for Learning.
Thank you for choosing your words carefully, knowing the weight they carry. Remembering that the words of an educator stay with a child for the rest of their life. Knowing that one kind sentence, one thoughtful correction, one encouraging phrase could be carried with them forever.
Thank you for your leadership, whether in the office, a classroom, on a playground, in a cafeteria, or behind the scenes. Thank you for lifting up your colleagues, offering support when it was needed most, and for stepping in - again and again - because you knew it mattered.
Enjoy a well-deserved break. And from the very bottom of our hearts, thank you for being an educator.
